How often should we talk after the first date , till the second date ?

Do whatever feels right for you. There's no right or wrong answer, it depends on the people. After a first date with one of my past boyfriends we didn't talk at all until our second date, except to clarify that we'd be meeting each other. And that suited us and worked. With my current boyfriend between our first and second dates, which had about a week in between, we stayed up until 4am messaging each other almost every night. And that suited us and worked.

So it just depends on how you feel.

Important Tips To Consider When Meeting That Someone Special For The First Time

"There is someone special for everyone." Every relationship expert will tell you this prodigious line. True to their word, there is someone special out there for all of us. Love has been said to bring forth surreal emotions of happiness, peace and tranquility. Why do we need love? Must we be in a relationship for us to be happy? How do you know if you haven found the one?

All these are questions that each us asks ourselves when we are lonely. Meeting that special someone can make us nervous. Lanky preparations mentally and physically may lead to a wrong presentation of our true selves. Avoiding this is crucial and the following tips are important to remember.*

Meeting a person for the first time can be nerve-wrecking hence why it is important to always look your best. Physical appearance is what appeals to a stranger for the first time. Neat hair, clean shoes and a well groomed man will seem more responsible while a decently dressed lady appears as a respectable lady.

Other things to look for during the initial meeting are virtues of kindness, respect and enthusiasms. For instance, does he pull out that chair for you? Does she smile or are you feeling uncomfortable?

Upon getting acquainted, this is the inception of a relationship and requires commitment, honesty and time. Work to build and learn about each other. What makes the other person angry? Happy, daily habits and are they tolerable or intolerable? Try living with each other for a while to determine this.*

Mentioned here are some basic things to invest in when building a stable relationship. In essence, take time to know each other, explore and infiltrate each other taking note of behaviors that may seem perplexing and stupendous.

The good always comes before the worst according to relationships experts. As such, it is vital to explore each others interests learning likes and dislikes. Such lessons help in identifying what interests to pursue together to make each other happy. Learning to apologize is a great way to keep a relationship healthy and strong.

Even though some relationship experts describe this as "weakness" in the male gender, it is the bonding factor among many couples. The art of saying sorry also acts as a healing rift during heated arguments. Such actions build trust and shows responsibility and maturity in relationships. This is considered the basis of laying a solid foundation for healthy and long lasting relationships.

How to make first dating memorable?

Love and Relationship Advice Forum

Hello friends,
How to make first dating memorable?
Flowers, plan something not common, something she likes, her hobbies.... Make it about her.
Generally i think the first date is best kept at coffee or maybe lunch: something that is low pressured and quick. However to make it special i would
1) bring flowers - a guy bought me flowers on our first date and while we didnt continue that far i have always thought that was super special (dont have to be that expensive its the thought that counts)
2) DO SOMETHING everyone just goes to dinner which is totally cool, but if you want to make it special do something different. go hiking, ice skating, go to a museum - that way youll have something to talk about and less pressure to constantly entertain each other

Love at the first sight...need help asap

Love and Relationship Advice Forum

Hi to you all!
First of all I want you to excuse me for my not so good english. Besides I've never posted on a forum before so please don't get mad if I do something wrong.
My story sounds like this: I came in vacation in Antwerp, Belgium and one day i saw a beautiful girl that came and sit with some friends on a bench near to the bench i was sitting. I smiled at her, she smiled at me, but, unfortunately for me I was too shy to go and speak to her. However i managed to take a picture which she appears in. Later i realized it was love at the first sight and now i want to find her but all i have is that picture.
I am going to depart back home on 10th January so i don't have a lot of time to find her. I was wondering if it's legal to print that photo for 10 times and leave a message too and spread those papers in different places in the city, hoping she or someone that knows her will see my message. Also i'm planning to make a video and post it on youtube. If someone knows if it's legal or illegal to do such things let me know.
I know most of you will find my problem weird, awkward or even funny but i don't care, it's the first time in my life (and I've had some relationships till now) when i feel i found my one true love.
Also i'm posting the picture here hoping that one of you will recognize her(she's the girl with black hair). If it's illegal any staff member could delete it.

How Men Screw Up First Dates And How To Avoid Making Them

I get a lot of guys who write in to ask me how to behave around*women. Many of those questions focus on the first meeting or the*first date.

I thought I’d share a concept that I feel is VITAL to understand if you’re wondering how to behave around a woman you've just met.

A Mistake Almost Every Guy Makes:
I’ve noticed a KEY difference between the way men and women act when they meet a “potential mate.”

Women usually act in a way that can be characterized like this:

“You’re interesting to me. I’d like to get to know you better, and we can see where this goes.”

Men usually act in a way that can be characterized like this:

“I am so interested in you that I’m nervous. In fact, I’m already thinking of you as a potential girlfriend or wife… or at least a one-night stand.”

In other words, women are usually casual and laid-back when they’re first meeting a guy…

But GUYS tend to act like every girl is a POTENTIAL WIFE.
As you can imagine, this creates a lot of tension and pressure.

And I’m not talking about the GOOD kind, but the kind that makes men shiver and shake with nervousness, and women feel uncomfortable because the MAN is acting uncomfortable.

I KNOW that you can relate to this in some way.

The Answer:

The simple solution to this is…

DON’T DO IT

If you start acting all freakish and nervous when you’re talking to a woman, stop yourself and try one of the different approaches I teach.

My favorite is to ASSUME that every woman has SOMETHING that’s going to annoy me, bother me, or SCREW UP HER
CHANCES with me.

The MAIN reason that I do this is…

SURPRISE…

BECAUSE IT'S TRUE!

Duh.

The fact is that MOST women are NOT compatible “long term” with most men. In other words, if you do get into a long-term relationship with a particular woman, the chances are that she’s going to have things about her that you don’t like.

One of my favorite Cocky & Funny themes to follow is “You’re screwing up your chances with me”.
Let’s say I’m walking down the street with a girl to have a cup of tea. Let’s assume that she and I just met the night before,

I got her number, and now we’re walking from my place to tea.
On the way, she trips over the doorway or spills her tea.

I might look at her, shake my head in an “overly dramatic fake annoyed” way, and say “This relationship just isn’t going to work” or “What did I tell you about this kind of behavior?”.

In other words, I’m communicating the very OPPOSITE of “You’re a potential wife.” I’m saying “I’m so comfortable around you that I can even make fun of you without caring what you think of me”.

Does this sound a little crazy? Good. It should.

But trust me

If you spend a couple of hours having regular, normal conversation… being Cocky & Funny, enjoying yourself, and generally demonstrating that you could care less how things turn out, you’ll be FAR more likely to take things further than if you act as if she might be the love of your life and you wind up acting so nervous, stilted, and DUMB that she runs away.

Lean back. Be cool. Make jokes about her screwing up her chances with you. Tell her that she’s a nice friend. Assume that she has qualities that are going to annoy you, then point them out (in a Cocky & Funny way, of course).
Don’t lose your composure. It can be fatal if you do.

Another note:

Most guys don’t “get” women.

They look for tricks and “pick up lines ”when it comes time to LEARN how to meet women and don’t realize that all the tricks in the world aren't going to help them if they don’t UNDERSTAND what’s “going on”.

Body Language 101: From A First Date To Meeting The Parents

a couple on a date Don't be shy — make eye contact! Don't stand with your arms crossed, don't touch your face, don't break eye contact, but what else?

Don't stand with your arms crossed, don't touch your face, don't break eye contact — when it comes to body language, we've all memorized these words of wisdom.

Whether you're embarking on a first date, going on an interview to land that dream job, or being forced to deal with your fear of public speaking at work, body language is an incredibly important factor in your success — or lack thereof. And according to body language expert Blake Eastman, the founder of Manhattan-based research and teaching organization the Nonverbal Group, not only are physical signals important, but on many levels, they're even more impactful than the words we say.

More from YourTango: On The Rise: Nearly 14 Percent Of Baby Boomers Have This STD

"These little slices of how you interact with other people are a big deal in your day-to-day life," Eastman says. "For example, your boss may not even realize it, but the whole reason they perceive you to be less valuable is because you’re expressing that you’re not confident."

According to Eastman, most of the hackneyed body language tips we've come to know are completely bogus, because they're so over-cited and over-used that they accomplish nothing but making you precisely what you don't want to be: completely average.

Exclusive! Watch 'The Kiss,' First Film Shot Using Google Glass

'The Kiss,' First Film Shot Using Google Glass Romance, as seen through Google Glass. One New York couple uses their "wearable computer" to film a modern-day 'Manhattan.'

Ever wonder what on earth you would do if you got your hands (or head) on Google Glass? Boonsri Dickinson, one of the Glass Explorers — a lucky group of a few thousand people who applied for and received a unit to play with — got that opportunity. She used it to take the viewer on a romantic date in New York City.

With her friend Evan, who is a producer, Boonsri went Central Park to create the first movie using Google's wearable computer called The Kiss.

"We wanted to do something simple and I was inspired after watching Woody Allen's Manhattan to do something that captured romance in the city," said Boonsri.

In the beginning of the black and white film, you follow a man as he rushes to meet his date by the iconic New York fountain. Once the lovers meet, the perspectives change and through the woman's point of view, you're right there with them as they dance, pop bubbles and kiss.

The first of it's kind, the short film may remind you of another pioneer movie that also gives you butterflies in your stomach: The first motion picture, The Kiss (1896).

10 Valuable Lessons From Terrible First Dates

First Date From Hell One lesson? If he shows up drunk, just go home. We've all been there. Now, here are the unexpected takeaways.

The best part about dating is that horrifying dates are inevitable. If you're shaking your head and wondering what's so "best," about that statement, then maybe you're the type who's never learned a lesson from a truly disastrous date. Bad dates are for learning, you guys.

We took to social media to see what people had learned after first dates from hell. It's hard to tell what's scarier from the stories we received: the dates, or the actual lessons the men and women were forced to learn. We'll let you be the judge.

1. Agreeing To A Health Food Restaurant For A First Date Won't End Well.
Emily probably should have known better when a date suggested that they meet at the healthiest of health food restaurants in town. However, the reality of the situation didn’t sink in until after she ordered a creamy dressing at the restaurant, and her date said, "Ugh. That's gross. Creamy dressing is sick. Sickening. Nasty. Oh man, I feel like I'm going to barf." Then he tightly grabbed her arm, looked her right in the face and said, "Look, pretty girl — don't ever let me catch you eating mayonnaise." Emily picked up her bag and snuck out the back door with the stealth of Batman.

Lesson? "Don't go out with guys who schedule first dates at healthy restaurants. Have a drink. Relax. Eat some mayonnaise, if you like."

2. Computer Programmers Have A Weird Sense Of Humor
If the bottom of the email after your first date reads the following, then you know you've got a desperate attempt at both funny and love on your hands. Can we say awkward?

"This program uses a novel algorithm to quantitatively analyze and assess characteristics of Jessica--------'s male suitors (includes real-time objective quantitative data on charisma and personality, goals-set/goals-attained ratios, penis size [and associated wielding skills], potential for a happy and successful future, probability of divorce, various dating statistics among 768 other int value data inputs).

The compiled algorithm yields object [name] of Jessica's best match, saving much valuable time and opening up a world of unprecedented happiness."

Lesson? "When the talk goes to his penis — he also claimed in another email that followed that he was well-endowed — block him on gmail, then laugh at him with your friends."

3. Vampires Aren't As Cool As They Are In The Movies
The idea of gifts, in general, is great! But when your date asks if he can buy you a pair of fangs before you even meet him IRL, something is up. However, if you ignore this blaring warning, as Diana did and, to quote her, "get stupid and go out with him anyway, because he's THAT good looking, don’t be surprised when he tells you he thinks he's a vampire, and that he thinks you're one, too." Sigh.

Lesson? "No matter how good looking he is, just say 'no' to dudes who think they’re starring in The Lost Boys."

4. Never, Ever Date A Local Yokel Celebrity
Colleen thought the local weatherman seemed rather charming when he asked her out. But that's where the charm ended. She explains, "The aura of 'I am a local celebrity so you should be impressed' is palpable. Also, he used weather terminology in bed. 'Expect heavy precipitation in my Southern Hemisphere'?? I wish I was making that up."

Lesson? "Celebrities, big and small, are all delusional." And on that note ...

5. ...Don't Date Former Disney Stars. Ever.
Honestly, if we look at former Disney stars, there's a lot of wonky going on there. A shouldn't have agreed to be set up with this particular star when her friend suggested a double date, but he was famous so it could be fun, she thought. The former teen heartthrob spent the entire evening either snorting coke or trying to score more coke — the ENTIRE evening.

Lesson? "If someone tries to set you up with a former child star, JUST SAY NO, no matter how good his hair is." Keep Reading ...

First Date Sex: The Verdict Is In

Sex Advice From A Dating Coach So far, so good ... should they do the deed? Sex on the first date? We've got the answer - and it might surprise you.

Okay, all you single gals wondering if you should go for it immediately when you meet a hot guy: I've got your answer.

In a recent post on Salon.com, Mary Elizabeth Williams talks about how "decades of sexual liberation" haven’t erased the stigma of being too easy when you sleep with a man on the first date. Her article references a new book called It's Okay To Sleep With Him On The First Date by Andrea Syrtash and Jeff Wilser, as well as a NYmag.com article by Alyssa Shelasky that explores the same issue.

More from YourTango: You Know What They Say: Opposites Attract, Right?

Williams' article explores the idea that men, not just women, need to consent to sex on the first date. This seems silly to me because most men are happy to jump in the sack whenever, and let's face it: many men feel sexual prowess by having multiple partners. The double-standard here is that they sometimes don’t want to think the women they date are "easy" or have "been around."

For her NYmag.com piece, Shelasky interviewed several women and men who had first date sex to discover what happened after the fact. Turns out, three out of eight women interviewed found lasting love, but five (62 percent) had regrets and never saw the guy again.

This got me thinking about some big lies women are told about first date sex:

1. Women are told that both genders need to consent, and while that's true, it's typically up to the woman to make the final call.

2. Women are still made to believe they should make a man wait.

3. Women are considered manipulative if they do make a man wait, leaving him wanting more.

4. If women decide to go for it on the first date, they are still sometimes considered "slutty."

Here's the big secret: the issue is not about sleeping together too quickly or what men think. It’s about your expectations and emotional state after sex.

More from YourTango: Why We're In A Global Love Crisis (& How Marriage Can Save It)

Maybe there are fewer men today holding the sexual double standard. But as a dating coach for women over 40, honestly, I don’t care what men think about this. I care passionately about what you think and how you feel. Keep reading...

What He Worries About Before His First Date With You

first date: what guys worry about Well, this is awkward. Guys reveal their first date jitters.

When we asked a bunch of guys to tell us what, if anything, they get nervous about on a first date, we were sort of expecting the usual answers: bad breath, what to wear, whether there will be chemistry, etc. But one common theme quickly emerged from nearly every one of the dudes we talked to: across the board, men seem to get really nervous about first date conversation.

It takes two to conversationally tango, but men seem to feel the burden of small-talk pressure pretty acutely:

More from YourTango: Love Bytes: A Guy's Take On How To Find Real Love

"The thing I'm most nervous about on a date is having nothing to talk about." — Chris, 25, New York City

"I worry about being boring. And I get nervous about babbling during lulls in the conversation." — David, 26, St Louis

"Being able to hold a solid conversation." — Joe, 24, New York City

"Probably the flow of the conversation. Because that sets the tone." — Brian, 26, New York City

"I get nervous that she might be nervous or untalkative, in which case we are screwed because I don't lead 75% of the conversation." — Mason, 27, LA

Love At First Sight: Why It Won't Find Your Match [EXPERT]

love at first sight There's more to someone than meets the eye. How do you find love beyond looks? Get to know your date over time.

I was talking to one of my female clients in her early 40s who has never been married. She confided in me that she tends to be attracted to good-looking men, but that these relationships fizzle out quickly and don't move forward as she would have hoped. It raised a question that so many of my clients ask me: How do you find love beyond looks?

Yes, looks are important from the standpoint that you have to be attracted to your mate. Especially with women, attraction can grow as you get to know someone over time. However, most of us are looking for someone who makes us feel special, exudes warmth and is someone we can trust.

More from YourTango: Who accompanies you to your single’s events to find love?

Case in point — my husband wasn't initially on my radar. He is a quieter guy who relates better to people one-on-one. I met him through a bicycling group. I had to give him a chance to get to know him. The more time I spent with him, the more I liked him. I found out we shared many values in common and shared some of the same life goals. He didn't catch my eye at first, but he became more attractive to me over time.

More from YourTango: Do you feel you are a Sleeping Beauty still looking to find love?

In another situation, after dating someone whom I thought was cute and more of my "type" at first, I noticed some serious differences in personalities between us. He didn't appreciate me for who I really am — a social person. He became jealous when I talked to friends at a community pool that I have been visiting for many years. And yet, he was off swimming laps when I was having this conversation! This made him much less attractive in my eyes. Keep reading ...

What To Do On A First Date To Make Him Fall For You

First Date One tip? Talk with your body. Six tips to make a lasting impression on your first date.

Dating can be fun – lots of fun! But in order to get to that I-have-to-see-you-everyday giddy feeling of a fulfilling relationship you have to pass the first date in all of its awkward glory. Do you hold his hand? Is it ok that you Googled him last night? Does your hair look ok? The answer to all of those questions —even number 2! — is big fat — yes.

1. Confide In Him
But only if it's the natural thing to do. When you're naturally at ease and can be your genuine self with another person, you'll have a better time (and so will he). Confiding in him doesn't mean you have to tell secrets, but if you can get past surface topics and talk about things you have in common — your great family, your alma mater, your favorite sports team — that emotional connection will start right from the first date and you won't have to force anything.

2. Google and Facebook Him  It's OK!
In the twenty first century when online dating sites are standard fare, there's no reason to feel sheepish about Googling and Facebooking your date. After all, had you met online you would already know things about each other's hometown, your college and what your interests are. Instead of feeling guilty about it, use it to fuel the conversation! Were there pictures of him with his dog? Ask him! But if you're weird about it or come off stalker-ish, the date will be super awkward.

3. But Don't Dig Around In The Past
This is more of a what-not-to-do piece of advice, but sharing information about a past relationship is bad news for a first date. Talking about how long you've been single is natural, but discussing the ugly details of your last breakup is a recipe for disaster. You'll come off angry and might even, unknowingly, project your feelings about that last guy onto this new one, and that's a quick road to no second date. Avoid negative topics in general. It's perfectly fine to learn from past relationships — that's what they're for — but internalize it and use it to make this relationship better than the last.

4. Do As He Does
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but when it comes to a date it will subtly indicate that the two of you are in sync (without the boy band reference — unless you're on a date with one of them!). We naturally want to be around people who are similar and echoing his movements are a great way to do that. Does he lean into the conversation? You're welcome to lean a little closer. Is he talking with his hands? Take the cue and do the same! Keep Reading ...
