How often should we talk after the first date , till the second date ?

Do whatever feels right for you. There's no right or wrong answer, it depends on the people. After a first date with one of my past boyfriends we didn't talk at all until our second date, except to clarify that we'd be meeting each other. And that suited us and worked. With my current boyfriend between our first and second dates, which had about a week in between, we stayed up until 4am messaging each other almost every night. And that suited us and worked.

So it just depends on how you feel.

Girl stops contact after 3rd date (LONG, sorry)

Love and Relationship Advice Forum

So I'm sure stories similar to what I'm about to post can be found if I scroll through the forums enough, but I guess I want to naively hope my situation is different. Sorry for the length of this.

Anyways, there is a girl that I texted for a good portion of December, we had our first date on Dec. 30, ended up seeing each other for a little bit on New Year's Eve, and then hung out the following Saturday which was like 4 days later. She's 21 and lives at home, and her sister was heading back to college the next day. So she invited me out to her house because she said her sister wanted to meet me. So I met her family and everything on our third date, I was ok with it though, because I do like her and had kind of already made up my mind that I could see a relationship with her. Anyways, I thought the night went well, well enough that I kissed her at the end of the night, though it wasn't smooth, and I'm now not sure it was welcome. She texts me on the way home, " Thanks for spending your night with us " I texted her when I got home that I had a good time and really liked her family, and then made a joke about the kiss. No response, but she occasionally doesn't respond late at night, so I wasn't going to stress about it.

I didn't hear from her the following day (Sunday), sent her a really short text Monday, still no response. So Tuesday I send a message that says, "I called earlier to apologize for the way Saturday night ended. I misread the situation, and I'm sorry if it made you uncomfortable. I'm not sure where things stand on your end right now, I feel like not good. But feel free to call or text me if you want to hang out more or get things back on the right track." She responded about an hour later with the following, "No I'm sorry! I'm awful at responding to messages and I really need to get better at that. I was happy that you came over and I was just nervous or awkward because not too many people come up to the house and I wasn't sure how everything was going to go."

I sent her a response to that saying I understood, and that I'd like to get together sometime soon to watch a movie if she is interested. No response. The next day sent I her a message saying I hope she had a good day at work, no response, and here I am Thursday afternoon, still no response, and more confused than ever.

So I guess I come to this forum because I really don't know what to think of her responses, or lack thereof. I'm of course overanalyzing everything, but on the other hand, I may be trying to overlook the pretty blatant ignoring of my texts because I want things to work so much. I don't think that her and I went 5 days without at least texting in all of December, so it doesn't seem like doing that after the 3rd date is a positive sign. On the other hand, she could have easily just not responded when I said feel free to text me if you want to get things back on track. What's the play from here? Give her more time? Move on? I don't want to be one of those guys who just don't pick up hints, but I also don't want to quit if there still seems reason for optimism.

*I should also say I don't THINK she is dating anyone else. She has a pretty religious family, and I don't think she would bring me to meet her family if there were other guys. I can't say that with 100% certainty though.

I can't figure out how to edit, but I feel like I should also add, I have a concert date with her planned for 10 days from now that I set up with her Saturday night. She hasn't cancelled that at this point, though that doesn't mean she won't. Part of me just wants to call her and say I like you, how do you feel? But another part of me is tempted to just play it cool and hope I can pick it back up if this concert date happens. I'm not sure if the potential of another date should influence my current response.

Facebook response after a month?????? PLEASE SOME FEEDBACK

Love and Relationship Advice Forum

Hello

What does it mean when your crush replies to your private Facebook message after a month?

I send him a casual message on Facebook ( private) saying: hey how have you been?

He did not reply and I moved on and put him out of my head

About a month later I got a reply saying: Hi I hope you are well. your husband is no longer on Facebook so I want to wish you all a happy new year. your son looks great

I am so confused

1. he did not reply to my message how have you been....he totally ignores it and sends me the above
2. why did he reply after a month?

I know He has been online on Facebook before

He has my husband his private e-mail so If he wanted to send him a happy new year he did not have to Im me

Is he just trying to be polite???

Or does he maybe like me and it careful as he knows my now ex husband ( he does not know we split up)

should I reply at all? if so what should i say

I want to know for certain if he likes me or not

He is either not interested and is trying to be polite and does not want to hurt my feelings
or he is interested but is afraid of my husband and does not want any problems or scandals and is not sure if I even like him

I cant just send a fb message saying I like you out of the blue, so How do I make it clear?

thanks for the reply dr girlfriend

Very helpful

We don't live in the same town...so I would prob say something like ; we should get some coffee and catch up next time I am in town

he adores my son......should I add we as in : next time me and ( my son) are in town?

anyone think it is desperate to ask him out for coffee.....? should he not be asking me out?
if he responds how will I know he is saying ok to be polite or because he is interested

I would say maybe don't mention your son and just say he's staying with family if he asks. That way you guys can focus on each other. Also, you are just asking him to coffee to catch up. Its a friendly gesture and clearly not a date. So I don't think you should feel weird about it. Friends want to hang out with friends all the time. Just don't make it awkward, and it won't be.

Tips for Flirting After Divorce

Tips for Flirting After Divorce It doesn't have to be intimidating to re-enter into the dating world after divorce!

By Divorce Detox's Allison Pescosolido, M.A. & Andra Brosh, Ph.D. for GalTime.com

how to flaunt it with confidence

It's intimidating to re-enter into the dating world after divorce. For many, the absolute scariest part of getting out there and meeting men is the need to begin flirting again.

The first thing to remember about flirting after divorce is that flirting is a harmless way to gauge another person's interest in conversing with you. You are not committing to a lifelong connection or even a date. You are simply deciding in a few moments whether you may enjoy this person's company. If you both like each other, you may continue to flirt and eventually talk. If you don't like the person, you may simply end the conversation politely and walk away.

Flirting 101

Practice builds confidence. Before you start flirting in public, get in front of a mirror and see how you look. Experiment with different smiles and poses to see which is the most inviting. Try conveying warmth with your eyes and see the difference it can make. Once you feel confident in front of the mirror, graduate to flirting with random strangers you encounter throughout your day.

All you have to do is glance at the person and smile. If he glances back and smiles as well, you may approach. Introduce yourself, and maintain eye contact for a few moments. Offer a simple, open-ended observation such as, "Isn't this weather wonderful?" Let the conversation go in any direction, but make sure you pay attention to what the other person is saying.

Body Language

Your gut instinct will be your best indication of how the flirting is going, yet sometimes nerves or insecurities can get in your way of making a proper assessment. Body language plays an important role in flirting and can be quite revealing. Some cues that your subject would like to continue flirting are:

Turning their body toward youTouching your armSmilingMaintaining eye contactLaughing

More obvious flirts may throw their head back as they laugh, play with their hair or lick their lips. More shy flirts may look down, fidget or shift their weight, but they will continue to maintain an interest in speaking to you. If you both continue the conversation without encountering negative cues, your subject is most likely interested.

Conversation

As you flirt, smile often and keep the conversation light. Talk about the weather, a hobby, sports, etc. Do not get too personal. Questions about religion, children, past relationships and emotions are not typically welcome in flirting.

Celebrity Couples Who Function As Families After Divorce

Celebrity Couples Who Function As Families After Divorce

By Evan Goldaper for CupidsPulse.com

In the world of Hollywood, it’s easy for celebrities to move on after they’ve been through a breakup. After all, there are always new and exciting people for them to meet, and everyone already admires them. However, some celebrities don’t choose to completely separate from their exes. Although they didn’t start dating each other again, these celebrity couples had their reasons to remain a family even after their divorces:

1. Bruce Willis and Demi Moore: For thirteen years, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore were among Hollywood’s strongest power couples. The two actors were at the heights of their careers when they married in 1987, making their wedding one of the most talked-about events of the year. However, by 2000, their marriage had fallen apart and the two divorced. Unlike many other settlements, both in and out of Hollywood, Willis and Moore’s split was uncontested and ended peacefully. They both agreed on the reasons for the divorce, blaming the increasingly small amount of time the two could spend together. Willis always said that Moore and their children’s happiness was the most important thing to him, and he gave around $90 million to her in spousal support. When Moore was still married to Ashton Kutcher, they would their spend holidays with Willis as one large family. As Bruce said to People, “Life is too short to spend what little precious time you have alive being unhappy.”

Is it normal to feel physical chest pain after a breakup?

Love and Relationship Advice Forum

The love of my life left me a week and some days ago. And as you can imagine, I've been under a great deal of stress and pain.

But at times, I feel this physical pain in the middle of my chest. It feels like my heart beats very slowly and painfully. It feels really weird, and it also messes with my breathing. It's starting to scare me a bit.

Is this normal? Has it happened to anyone else?

Yes this happened to me too, it was moments of feeling ok and then out of nowhere this feeling just hits you, almost like a panic attack at times with the difficulty breathing. Its a really awful thing to be going through Things will gradually get better though the more you distract yourself and find ways to relax
Sorry for your pain edweird256. Yes it happens to the best of us when we've fallen hard. Particularily when it was a great love. I've been there. I wish I could say something to ease your pain. This too shall pass with time. You just have to take one day at a time and then one day you'll start to feel better than the last. Brighter days are ahead of you.
I think this is the effect of the stress you are under. It's so hard to deal with a broken heart. Harder than anything I think. When my heart was broken I didn't feel healthy either. This is normal. But maybe you should consider going to a doctor? He could run some tests just to make sure everything is 100% ok. Being under stress is so harmful.
I'd agree that it's normal. It's happened to me as well, along with being on the verge of throwing up for weeks on end. One thing you can do that might help is to cut out caffeine for a while, if you consume caffeine, that is - for me it's always made me more susceptible to heart palpitations and anxiety.
Yes, I should think so. I have experienced that kind of pain in the chest, too. When I am very distressed by some extreme emotional upheaval in my personal life, I do find it difficult to breathe. Each time I draw a breathe, I feel a pain in my chest. When I find my emotional balance again, the pain goes away by itself. I hope you will feel better soon, too.
It's normal. Just anxiety and stress dealing with the breakup. Your brokenhearted and feeling overwhelmed with everything. I've been there and done that. You will be okay, just keep holding on.
