Is he interested in me? He's always texting and saying certain things to me...

Hi,
So recently, a guy I'm very good friends with (and have known for a while) has been texting me frequently and recently, I've noticed his texts have been a lot more daring, and a lot of people would interpret them as flirting. He also includes several kisses on each text; now I know that might not mean anything, but several of my friends and even this guy never usually puts kisses on texts to just friends.

I was wondering if this is him trying to say he's interested in me? We regularly keep in contact and often hug, and he supported me when I've been down. He always wants to help me out if he can

An example would be that we were joking that he had declared war on me, so I said I'd kick him. His reply was that he'd pin me down, which I just put down to him being him. When I said that I'd bite if I had to, his reply was that he'd like it, which I didn't quite know what to make of. I do also know now that he split up with his girlfriend a while ago; just after when he'd met and got to know me.

I just don't know what to think; I do like him quite a lot, and he has been protective of me when he has seen others try it on with me - I think I'm attracted to him a lot, and don't know what to do. I don't want to ruin our friendship, but to me it feels like we more than best friends, but not quite there as neither of us has said anything more than what I'm sure we're doing now, which is flirting.

I don't know what to do! Is he interested at all in me? I don't have much experience with guys, as although I've been asked out by several different people, none of them I've been attracted to so I've turned them down (many of them were people I saw as only friends).

I'm so confused...

How To Take Your Online Romance From Texting To Talking In Person

ProConnect Subscribe to Experts Blog By Justin Kelly McClure

How To Take Your Online Romance From Texting To Talking In Person An authentic smile is so much better than texting an emoji! You met online and now you're texting non-stop. Read on to learn why that's not the best idea.

Ok, you've been texting this guy you met online for two weeks and feel he has potential. Heck, he could be 'The One' you recently told a friend over brunch. He likes traveling, you like traveling. He wants kids and everyone knows you want kids. You both prefer sunsets to sunrises. Things are matching up, right? Wrong. You don't know this person and those traits are just things he typed on a website. People pander for attention all the time and he may be none of those things. In reality, you've been dating your phone for two weeks.

Why haven't you gone on date No.1? Oh I know — you want to establish phone comfort to insure "He's not a serial killer". But what you're doing is killing the possibility of true chemistry by talking too much via device instead of through eye contact. Meet your online dates sooner than later; otherwise later you wonder why "The One" became a person you text for weeks, but saw for an hour. Also, a recent survey from Elite Singles shows 94% of women feel the man should ask for the first date — do it sooner than later.

More from YourTango: How To Start A Conversation Without Feeling Super Awkward

In my book "Pray Your Kids Are Ugly" I discuss the two relationships with online dating: the virtual one (email, text) and then the physical. Just because you have great texting chemistry doesn't mean it will carry over in person, and too much texting will not manifest in person because you've already covered everything.

The personality discovery, quirks about someone's life, should be received through eye contact, not retina display. Chemistry is found in the small things, the playfulness of banter. If the small talk is covered through your phone then your anticipated first date might end up boring and awkward. "The date was actually anti-climatic. We had nothing to talk about after 45 minutes, but we text so well." That's because you covered it already. Ask your thumbs. They are sore for a reason.

Also, when you prolong an online date, you build expectations on physical appearance; how a person smiles, their posture, the way they walk, etc. We are attracted to the little things about someone, so find out. Remember everyone puts his or her best photos online. The longer we wait to meet in 3D the more we expect to meet their dating profile instead of the actual person. Not good.

Text to setup the first date, but don't make it the first date. If the person you are talking to makes excuses on why they can't meet, they are probably lying about their availability (could be married) or may not look like their photos. Call them out on it, "If you are truly single why are you procrastinating on meeting?" Some people are into games. Be in charge. Keep things moving if needed. Value your time.

We become more attractive to others when we show we are in charge of our lives, and this type of charge, fortunately, doesn't need a wall outlet. Put down the phone, meet in person, discover a person with your eyes and not your thumbs. Let the details blossom organically...the way it happened when your parents met.

Elite Singles has a nice infographic survey about first dates and you can view it here. Also, please check out my book “Pray Your Kids Are Ugly” as it discusses the affects of online dating on our society and the future of human interactions as a whole. Likewise I would love to stay in touch with you via Twitter, Facebook, or Google Plus.

Does the GIRL Like me? If so what should be my next move? Shud I continue texting her

There's a girl in our college that I like a lot! She is pretty n I'm sure she doesn't have a boyfriend!
I have talked to her twice or thrice regarding few motivating things and had a healthy conversation for a few hours now and then!
Now I'm somewhat staying away from college for peripheral posting!
I'm only in contact with her via Text messages where I msg her regarding random things!
The other day I came to know that she was ill! We briefly saw each other that day as I was in a hurry to catch a bus! Same day I Texted her regarding her ill health and even gave some health tips!

Her reply to this was "Thanks a lot for inquiring about my ill health. I'll follow your advice. Can I tell u something if you don't mind--NICE SHIRT--Gudnyt bye bye

To this I replied --THANK YOU! Gudnyt 2u2

After a couple of days she texted me *gud evening! When are you posted back to our college?

What do you ppl think?
Does the GIRL Like me? If so what should be my next move? Shud I continue texting her? If so what kind of SMS?
Does this mean she likes me only as a friend or something more?

Yesterday to wish for New Year I called her up at 1AM, we exchanged New Year Wishes over phone! Because it was pretty loud she again called me after an hour and again wished me and inquired when I was going to be posted in college and why I wasn't able to attend a college get together on New Year eve!
Plz help me ppl!

Dirty dancing We have the time of our lives when you're annoyed at us, Johnny Castle. 10 ways to deal with "Ex Season".

I've always referred to the holidays as "Ex Season." Blame it on the chill in the air, the sudden realization that everyone's brothers/sisters/cousins all required extra seats at the table to make room for their significant others, or plain seasonal horniness, but exes begin surfacing left and right when the holidays roll around.

Suddenly your high school boyfriend is wondering how you've been. That dude you kissed last New Year's Eve (mainly out of desperation)? He's super interested in that new job of yours! And of course we can't forget your on-again-off-again hometown hookup buddy.

Whatever your ex's holiday booty call tactic may be, we're here to keep you from texting him back. We've rounded up some of the most romantic movie scenes of all time (if we do say so ourselves).

Regift him to a friend and snuggle up with one of these more predictable on-screen couples, and leave the awkwardness to someone less fortunate.

Boyfriend Texting and FB Messaging Ex

Hi everyone. I have been dating my boyfriend for a year now. We are in a long distance relationship and I did a horrible thing and looked through his cell phone. I saw that he has been texting an ex (a girl he met online who lives in another country and has a 2 year old son from some other guy). I confronted him about this when he openly told me that he had Skyped with her one day. I told him it bothered me that he was still in touch with her and Skyping with her. Then I saw that he has been saying hello to her on Facebook, but she hasn't been responding. She isn't writing back, but he occasionally writes "hi." That is all. He says "hi" and she never writes back.

He even txted her "hi" 7 days ago and she never responded. Why would he want to keep saying "hi" to someone who never writes back? I don't get it. I don't get his need to be in touch with her either. Should I confront him and let him know that I know he is trying to reach out to her? I am so confused.

What Guys Really Think Of Texting

dating: what guys think of texting In reality, this guy has zero intentions of dating you. He texts you without fail, but he never asks you out on a date. So what's the deal?

Texting has become a popular way to communicate among singles. People like it because it's a quick means of communicating details, and men usually prefer texting because it's easy to stay in touch without much effort. Texting is also a fun way to banter without picking up the phone. That's the upside.

The downside is when women mistake a man's frequent texting for real interest in them. So many of my dating coaching clients end up in these lengthy, enjoyable texting "relationships," thinking they are building a real connection with a man. Sadly, that is usually not the case.

The Four Types Of Texters To Beware

1. The Womanizing Texter. He's not ready to be exclusive, but seeks female attention. For this guy, texting is the perfect way to keep you—a woman—at arm's length. In this case, texting is his low commitment way to stay in touch. In fact, a man can actually be texting several women on a regular basis. It helps him feel more desirable and like a hot commodity. Texting provides a great ego boost as the arrival tone alerts everyone in hearing distance of his popularity.

2. The Cheating Texter. He seems to be romantically interested in you ... even though he's in a relationship. Many experts refer to such relationships as emotional cheating: when a man who has a wife or live-in girlfriend creates an emotionally close bond with another woman via texting. This way, he isn't physically cheating, just flirting with other women. Obviously, you wouldn't want your man engaging other women this way.

3. The Needy Texter. This guy might text you all day. He wants your attention and needs your help. He'll either appeal to your nurturing side or just text little things all day to stay in touch. At first it might be fun, but it can wear you down and become pretty darn annoying, especially when you'd prefer a face-to-face date. Keep reading...
