Love and Relationship Advice Forum

Hey guys,

I think I messed up. My ex boyfriend and I were hanging out a lot and we had a really nice day after I told him I was in love with him and we made love, the next morning we hung out all day and then I went home but before I did he just made me feel real special. He picked me up and hugged me really tight and gave me kissea as I walked out the door. Well I can't tell if I messed up or if he just doesn't care. Like most guys he's very closed off. I asked him if he thought he wasn't allowing himself to trust me and if he was ever going to let me in. He replied "I'm not too sure and I don't know if that's what I want really." So I replied "so you just don't want me?" He didn't text me back for a while and like a dumb ass I let my emotions get the best of me and put something on facebook about knowing when to move on and deserving better. The next morning he text me saying "not exactly how I think he wants me, but relationship wise...no". I obviously thought he meant sex so I was pretty upset and I told him I didn't want him either and I deserve better. Am the asshole here or is he? To test it out, I asked him to be my **** buddy, but he ignored me. I guess I really was just hurt and trying to hurt him. I can't tell if he's genuine or trying to hurt me because of what I said on facebook.

PLEASE HELP :/

Facebook has been the cause of death of many relationships- new and old. Dont feel bad..I let my emotions get the best of me at times too. I've learned to use a breathing exersize when something upsets me..counting backwards from 10 or 20...concentrating on calming down and looking at things from a more rational perspective. Don't be so hard on yourself- you did say this was an ex-boyfriend..and ex-boyfriends are usually ex's for a reason. Move on.
Communicating any way that's not face-to-face causes a few problems. I know sometimes it's more convenient, but there's a lot of ability for misunderstandings and confusions.

If he doesn't want to be in a relationship, don't get hung up with him and offer to just let him use you for sex. Unless that's really where you are in life, but it doesn't seem to be like that -- you seem to really care about him, and were just offering to be a booty call when he needs someone. This will only complicate things down the road.

Find someone who actually wants to be in a relationship with you (again, if that's what you want.) Try and forget about this guy if you can, because he seems to not want that at all right now.

Don't ever put anything on Facebook. It's aired to all of your friends and anyone else who can see it on the internet. Instead of putting it out there, talk to him, tell him how you feel. Try getting a hold of him again and say you think you got off on the wrong foot and want to make it work again. If you love him, make it work. If you feel he's not right, then move on.

I have fought for him and he makes it very difficult. Like too difficult to the point where my own dignity is questioned. Ijust told him that I didnt want a relationship because I dont know what I want. Which is mostly true he acceptesd my apology and is very understanding. He seems to want me when I tell him I just want to be friends. Very confusing. He wants to see me when we establish we are just friends and he cuddles me and showers me with affection, but when we establish we are trying he doesn't make any effort. Thats strange isn't it. Either way its unneeded stress.
I think he didn't want a relationship. It's not like you "messed up" like you say. He just felt familiar and thought what you guys were doing was just familiar and he missed it. I don't think he wanted to take it even further. Sorry!

I don't think he wanted to take it even further. Sorry!Yeah, well this is why I dont date guys my age. Im not perfect, but I really hate games. All guys in their 20s wants to date the girls that really dont bring much to the table and I'm not like that. I put my all into people I trust and care about. Im not too worried about it. It wasn't meant to be, I guess I sensed he didnt want a relationship for a while and thats why I jut grew out of it and Im not sure if its what I want either.
He was not for you. If it was someone who loved you he would have waited to talk about what you meant on your facebook status personally and you would have spoken like adults and he would have understood what made you say what you said and you would have understood then what he meant earlier which lead you to write what you wrote. You both allowed your emotions to control you none of you was logical about it, but those are the experiences you learn from as life goes on.

Cute guy and Facebook add dilemma! I want to hear your opinion :)

Love and Relationship Advice Forum

OK So there´s something I really want to hear people´s opinion on, there´s this guy who works at grocery store where I usually shop. For a couple of months he s been flirting with me every time I was in the store like he would always talk to me and tease me and trying quite hard to start a conversation with me (I m not the chattiest person on earth). But I´m so crazy shy and never gave him too much back, though I think he s cuuuuuute . Now I haven´t seen him for a while, like a month and a half, I don´t know why, maybe he´s sick, but I found him on Facebook by chance by recognizing him on a picture where he was tagged from a nightclubs fb page (you know when they post pics from past events...) Is it super weird/stalkerish/desperate/random to write to him? He has never even told me his name! Or should I use wait and hope to spot him at the store again?

Facebook response after a month?????? PLEASE SOME FEEDBACK

Love and Relationship Advice Forum

Hello

What does it mean when your crush replies to your private Facebook message after a month?

I send him a casual message on Facebook ( private) saying: hey how have you been?

He did not reply and I moved on and put him out of my head

About a month later I got a reply saying: Hi I hope you are well. your husband is no longer on Facebook so I want to wish you all a happy new year. your son looks great

I am so confused

1. he did not reply to my message how have you been....he totally ignores it and sends me the above
2. why did he reply after a month?

I know He has been online on Facebook before

He has my husband his private e-mail so If he wanted to send him a happy new year he did not have to Im me

Is he just trying to be polite???

Or does he maybe like me and it careful as he knows my now ex husband ( he does not know we split up)

should I reply at all? if so what should i say

I want to know for certain if he likes me or not

He is either not interested and is trying to be polite and does not want to hurt my feelings
or he is interested but is afraid of my husband and does not want any problems or scandals and is not sure if I even like him

I cant just send a fb message saying I like you out of the blue, so How do I make it clear?

thanks for the reply dr girlfriend

Very helpful

We don't live in the same town...so I would prob say something like ; we should get some coffee and catch up next time I am in town

he adores my son......should I add we as in : next time me and ( my son) are in town?

anyone think it is desperate to ask him out for coffee.....? should he not be asking me out?
if he responds how will I know he is saying ok to be polite or because he is interested

I would say maybe don't mention your son and just say he's staying with family if he asks. That way you guys can focus on each other. Also, you are just asking him to coffee to catch up. Its a friendly gesture and clearly not a date. So I don't think you should feel weird about it. Friends want to hang out with friends all the time. Just don't make it awkward, and it won't be.

Facebook Can Be a Bitch

Ben and I decided to put the topic of North Carolina on hold for the rest of the weekend and until he talked to his past-and-maybe-future boss about his options. And we were able to have a lovely time together–delicious dinners, lighthearted conversation, and even some great sex. Twice. It wasn’t that we were avoiding the conversation, exactly. We had just run out of ways to talk about it, and were waiting on further information to pick it up again. It all felt very adult, actually.

On Sunday, Ben was cooking omelets (wild mushroom, thyme and goat cheese–yum!), and while I waited, my Blackberry buzzed. I had a Facebook invite to Mitchell’s going away party. I immediately got a feeling of dread.

“Hey Ben?” I called. “Can I use your laptop?”

He said I could (well, actually, he said “Like you have to ask, weirdo”), and I logged onto Facebook to get a better look at the invite. Not only was the event public, but he’d invited Ursula.

I logged off, and headed into the kitchen to inform Ben of this development. Before I had a chance to fill him in, his cell phone rang.

“Oh, hey Ursula,” he said, tucking his iPhone between his ear and shoulder while he flipped the omelets. “What’s u—oh, um, I didn’t… I mean I wasn’t…”

Ben continued to stammer while Ursula yelled. Loudly. I could make out almost everything she was saying from the doorway. There were lots of expletives.

“Ursula, calm down,” he said. “I didn’t tell you because I didn’t think he was really going to go. I didn’t want to upset you if he wasn’t going to do it.”

Ursula yelled some more, and then I think she started to cry, because Ben’s voice took on a much more soothing tone.

“Sweetie, I know,” he said. “He’s being an idiot. I think it’s just a phase.” He paused to listen to something she was saying that I couldn’t make out. “I don’t know,” he said, finally. “I really don’t… Hang on, I’ll ask her.”

“Hey,” he whispered, covering the phone with one hand. “Ursula wants to know if you’re free for dinner this week.”

“Tuesday?”

Through Ben, Ursula and I made plans for dinner. Ben and I spent the rest of the night wondering what Mitchell was thinking inviting Ursula, and decided it could be anything from having invited all of his Facebook friends to the party, to deliberately trying to hurt her. Which makes him anywhere from an idiot to a total jerk.

On that note, I’m heading out to meet her. I’m kind of glad he’s leaving, so she can actually start putting her life back together again.
