Love Horoscope 2014: What's In Store For Your Sign?

love horoscopes Look to the stars!

Happy New Year! In light of all the resolutions we know you're going to keep—and of all the romantic adventures in your future—enjoy these love horoscopes for 2014, courtesy of Vedic astrologer (and friend of YourTango) Richelle Jarrell.

"Is this your year for love? The stars have an important role to play in how our lives unfold.  Sometimes no matter what we do, things never seem to work out in our love lives.  At other times, everything seems magical.  Everything has a season, so if it's your time to feel the elation of love, celebrate! If you are feeling blocked and no matter what you do, things never seem to work out, take heart.  It may not be the right time, and you can use your single years wisely to grow inwardly as you prepare to share yourself more fully later on."

Aries (April 14th - May 14th) – It may have been pretty tough lately for smooth sailing in your relationship, but the stars help you to either commit to or leave a relationship that you've been wondering about.  If you've been scared to leave, you will have the ability to take action.  If you need to re-bond together, this is a lovely time to take short vacations with the one you love so take that scenic drive for a fun outing together.

Taurus (May 15th - June 14th) – Time to grab your dancing shoes and go out to meet someone new.  This can be one of the best times in your relationship so make the most of your time together. Count your blessings and enjoy the intensity of your love.

Gemini (June 15th - July 16th) – Watch for tempers and try to not let irritations get the best of you.  Communicate clearly what you feel and focus your energy on improvements you've been wanting to make to your home or vehicle.  The starts encourage your growth and expansion and support you to open your heart to a new level of insight and romance.

Cancer (July 17th - August 16th) – Mid-year Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion, will be blessing your romantic life as he enters your sign. You can also find yourself expanding spiritually as you feel the effects settle in to your psyche.  Take advantage of the opportunity to grow as the stars combine to help you reach your goals by giving you greater courage.  Be fearless in tackling your relationship issues that have been weighing you down but remember to use your heart not your head.

Leo (August 17th - September 16th) – Watch for harsh speech as the stars prompt irritation and impatience.  Use this as an opportunity to learn more about how you need to express yourself early on when conflict arises and make the most of your communication efforts.  You will gain extra support from friends so don't forget that your significant other is your best friend too.  Keep your love life nurtured by making an extra effort to use sweet speech with your partner.

Virgo (September 17th - October 16th) – This is a good year to tackle any bad habits you are hoping to remove from your life so make the most of your decision to improve your health – this will give you the extra boost you need to show up with the best of yourself in your relationships.  The stars are making you feel a bit restless so channel your energy into plenty of exercise so that you don't take your frustrations out on those whom you love.

Libra (October 17th - November 15th) – Saturn is in your sign until the end of the year so this can be intense.  Take steps to connect with your inner self more fully so that you truly know yourself.  This will help you to chose the right partnership when it comes along.  For those of you in a happy relationship, this can be when you get married or formalize your commitment – congratulations!

Scorpio (November 16th - December 15th) – Your partner will be by your side giving you encouragement as you gain an influx of energy to tackle your dreams and goals.  Be sure to keep them included in your process so that they don't feel left behind as you focus on other areas demanding your attention.  Try not to let the irritations of friends get in the way of your success.  If you are not currently in a relationship, this can be a trying time for finding that dream partner so keep working on self-improvement and make the most of your single time.

Sagittarius (December 16th - January 14th) – The stars are shining on you so if you're single go out and meet new people.  This is the time to connect with new partners and make romantic connections.  If married you will find that your partner is feeling supported and uplifted – share in their positive energy and deepen your relationship.  Celebrate the happiness you can share together now.

Capricorn (January 15th - February 13th) – You may be feeling that work is requiring more of your focus so be sure to remember your partner as you keep up with demands.  You may be cultivating a new relationship with a mentor or teacher, so this can be a good time for personal and spiritual growth.  Any expansion you make internally will help you blossom in your love life too.

Aquarius (February 14th - March 14th) – Romance can be in the air for you so enjoy the feeling of togetherness.  Take a vacation together since this is an excellent time for travel.  You may find that exposing yourself to another culture helps you to grow together to a new level.

Pisces (March 15th - April 13th) – This is a great time to upgrade your love nest together so take the time to beautify your surroundings.  Explore Feng Shui, the art of placement, for helping to improve the energy of your home – especially your kitchen and bedroom.  Be sure to ask for the support that you need from your partner and guard against petty arguments.   If single, don't get trapped in over-investing in someone and avoid getting involved in a relationship too quickly.  Take your time in getting to know someone new no matter how amazing they seem at first. Good discernment will go a long way here.

*Dates vary annually.  Please consult a Vedic astrologer to verify your personal sign. The signs referred to are based on the calculations of Vedic Astrology, which differs from Western astrology by about 24 degrees.  The star positions are based on how astronomers see the sky, and not on the seasons…so you may experience a sign change in your Vedic chart.  To learn more, please visit www.inspiredlove.com.

Insecurity: What's causing it ?

Love and Relationship Advice Forum

I've known him for a year and a half. For a year we just had sex because none of us wanted this to work out..He was still in love with his ex, they were together for a year. She was his age she had a child (she was only 19) with her ex husband that died and then met my boyfriend afterwards, He was seriously in love with her. They met while he was at college and she lived there. But he had to go back home to find a job after he finished his studies so they split because of the distance. Well then he joined the army for a year. Then he met me. We were nothing like a couple. Because, well I didn't feel that something about him. And he told me he was still in love with her. Anyways, they met after a month and obviously slept together for the last time. That was a year and a half ago. So we decided we just have sex and nothing more. I was so cold i wouldn't feel anything he got mad at times for my coldness. Which is strange for me because i'm usually a very sensitive person when it comes to love. I wasn't in love with him. I left him many times within a year 6 to be specific dating other people cause i wanted to fall in love. But i was always returning to him. He dated a couple of girls as well but didn't work out and came back to whatever we had. We had no pressure in our thing, no jealousy, no hard times. Well, summer arrived and i went to visit my parents( I'm studying at his place and had vacation on summer). I kissed somebody during summer and he got really jealous and mean when i told him. When i came back,i don't know what happened, but after a while we ended being in a relationship. We didn't have a serious talk but It was a thing I just knew. And everybody else could see there was something special between us. And he is telling everyone we are a couple, even met his family. What you should know about me is that I have tried to be in a relationship and fall in love but i couldn't bare this, lying to someone about my feelings, pretend to be in love, and i hate to hurt people but i could not pretend and lie to myself so i was always the one to leave. It is only him i feel different, i don't know if i'm in love but i do want this to work. What bothers me is something that happened about a month ago. He left his facebook page open and i saw the messages. He was talking with his ex i mentioned above. And with another girl they used to have sex years back she was in love with him but he wasn't and now he was having that naughty talk with her and she even asked him to meet but he couldn't because of the distance as he said. Also, he had all of his exes at his favorite friends list and always liking their pictures and everything. I told him about this, and he said he was sorry and that was along time ago and i shouldn't worry because he loves me. We were talking about this for a long time because well i can't forget easily. Today i saw he keeps liking his exes pictures. Especially that one with the child. And that bothers me. He says they are not talking but how can that be possible when he likes her pictures? Maybe they're talking on skype or texting on their phones or even call each other who knows. He also wears a hand watch that she gave him, a sweater she gave him, and his wallet, all gifts from her. THAT bothers me. But I haven't told him. This thing i have with him is full of insecurities on my side. I'm afraid some day he needs to go somewhere for work he will meet them..Please, I need some advice this whole thing really upsets me..

What's Your Relationship with Food?

What's Your Relationship with Food? What is your body saying about your eating habits?

What is your body saying about your eating habits? Even though chocolate has been categorized as an antioxidant, Toblerone does not probably meet the Mayo Clinic's definition of the cocoa that reduces the risk of heart disease, lower blood pressure or improve vascular function. I will admit to keeping a secret stash of Toblerone in my desk at work because as the Christmas season tends to be a busier time of year, my life gets very busy. I'm still working on healthier eating habits. How about you? With metabolism changes and time of year effects, I have started wondering what else is packed into this carefree seasonal eating? Food is a love language and at this time of year, although it's a month of loving family and friends, sometimes it can be so busy that racing to catch my tail can disconnect me from my love connections because I show up stressed!

I want to feel more freedom, body vibrancy, and connected with my feminine self. Weight can be such a barrier to feeling sexy and alive. So let's all be more intentional.

If you want to take better care of your body, here are some useful things to keep in mind:

? Eat better & enjoy the ritual of each meal.
? Design a personal self-management program to eat better using a mobile phone tracker such as My Fitness Pal.
? Be intentional about how you show up socially (meditate or go for a run before every event so you don’t stress-eat at the event).
? Notice how you feel in your body at social events—tell yourself to relax.
? Do some type of cardiovascular exercise every day to get your mojo going!
? Rather than snacking at night, why don't you have a conversation with someone you love?
? Practice to breathe deeper into your belly at every doorway.

What's So Crazy About Being Single And NOT Looking?

single woman All the single ladies! Whether temporary or indefinite, can a woman ever just be single without being a pity case?

I can't even begin to count the number of times people have said to me, "Dori, you need a boyfriend," after learning that I'm single. What's worse is their reaction when I don't chime in with a disgruntled, "Don't I know it!"

I easily accept the reality of my relationship status — single — and this seems to perplex people. That my life doesn't revolve around nailing down Mr. Right strikes both friends and strangers as odder than should be allowed, and drives them into frenzied trances of speculation. Between the doubt and the advice they're just dying to give, it only takes but a few moments for them to vault me up on to the platform of their projected pity where they can lavish me with counsel.

I can always see it coming too. The furrowed brow of concern, the gentle hand of commiseration resting cautiously upon my own. Sometimes their solicitude will come in the form of a shy comment; something to the effect of, "I just worry about you. You deserve better."

"Better than what?" I might ask them, knowing full well what their answer will be. "Better than being alone, of course. Nobody wants to be alone."

But is being alone — whether temporarily or indefinitely — really all that bad? When I explain to those who care that I have come to a place in my life, post-divorce, where I feel more comfortable with detachment rather than attachment, the result of their friendly psychoanalysis is always the same: I'm either kidding myself, in denial, on some kind of head trip where I believe I'm superior to others, or I'm just too lonely to admit that I'm shut down and afraid to fall in love again. After all, who could be happy in such a state of non-attachment? The Buddha?

Well, I'm not the Buddha, nor do I aspire to be the Buddha. I'm just me, a woman who's been madly, desperately in love before; a woman who's had many great loves and many great losses. I've felt the all-encompassing warmth of being in love, and I've lived for years and years in full acknowledgement of love's infinite healing qualities. I have loved love, and have spent a life knowing that by being in love, I was living a full life, a human life. The act of loving someone and being loved in return, without a doubt, allowed me to feel like I was a complete person. Love is what made life worth living.

Until of course, I was pulverized by love.

While the old adage, "once bitten, twice shy," has meaning, the reality of the slogan—for most of us—should read, "85,000,000 times bitten, twice shy." We don't really get the point until we've been squashed, annihilated and eradicated by love—and even then I'm not sure we get it. When we finally ask ourselves, "Hey, whoa...do I really want more of this love stuff?," ironically, most of the time the answer will be, "Why, yes. Yes I do. In fact, give me another helping. Even though my heart has been charred into cinders, I believe there’s still something inside this old cage of bones that’s worth destroying."

What a bizarre bunch of Buddhas we are, this human race of ours.

So, why do we crave this attachment when we know from experience that it has the potential of delivering so much pain? I think if we had even the slightest hint of what real, permanent separation from the person we love felt like we’d never venture forth to seek love in the first place. It's like marriage; we don’t marry to get divorced, we marry because we want to achieve the ideal, and that is to stay in love forever. Not only that, but I suspect we also marry because we think we can grab the 'brass ring', that it’s ours for the taking so long as we believe.

Oh sure, at the dawn of a romance, we pretend to be all grand and worldly about the reality of being in love. We tend to shoo away any hints at our own weakness, which, in a way, is like creating a disclaimer that acknowledges failure as an option. But it's nothing we can't deal with because, well, we're such advanced souls and naturally we can take it should something as silly as failure happen. That's why we glibly say things like, "Yeah, I know it's not going to be perfect." But the truth is, we're not always prepared for it to be anything less than perfect. Because once we're in love, we're sunk.

As soon as that attachment takes hold, even the slightest variance may be interpreted as a threat to the union. For those of us whose sensitivity levels are off the charts, we become neurotic, paranoid and possessive. We are so involved and invested in the security of this thing that if for some reason we detect even the slightest breach in the unspoken contract of love, we start to break down, bit by bit. For every ounce of pleasure that we derive from the coupling, there is now an equal amount of worry and fear. The fear isn't so much about the present state of the affair as it is about what the end will feel like should the worst of all possibilities come to pass.  Keep reading...
