Does this man sound Legit or am I naive?

Love and Relationship Advice Forum

I recently met a guy online, on craigslist. He posted an ad and I responded. He then responded to my email 3 days later after the holidays. We have been dating for almost a month and a few days. He has been texting, calling me everyday and we hang out every time we are both free. I work during the day and he works 4 to midnight so its hard. However on Wednesday and Thursdays on his days off we hang out and he takes me on dates. He is very sweet and made me feel secure...until yesterday when I look on Craigslist out of curiosity to see if his post was still there. I was curious bc he treats me so good and is so nice I was wondering if it was an act. The ad was on there and it was renewed on Thursday the 24th at 4:56pm. We hung out the night before and he wanted to hang out with me again on Thursday night, which would be the day he renewed that ad. The most hurtful thing is that the day before the ad was renewed we had sex for the first time. I confronted him and he said he did not renew the ad but I'm not THAT naive, yes he did! I don't think ads automatically get renewed. So we go back and forth the whole day and he's pleading his case that he's sorry and that he wants me to be his girlfriend but he got a little insecure bc I get hit on a lot and that he didn't know if my feelings for him were sincere. Last night (4days later) he asked me to be his girlfriend, apologized about 20 times and then deleted the post. So my question is, should I stop dating him now bc that situation is shady, or give him another chance. After all, I was not his girlfriend. Thanks for reading!
You were not his exclusive girlfriend so he did have the right to date around but it sounds like he is capable of lying to you. As far as renewing the ad after you had sex, I have a feeling he might have been ready to move on. I think this all could be solved with better understanding and communication.

I know I was not his exclusive girlfriend that's why I am pondering if he is trustworthy or not. That Thursday he posted the ad he texted me the whole entire day and then we talked for an hour and a half that night..and he wanted to go out to dinner but I had work reports to do. I just don't know. I'm pretty confused!
