I'm new here and long story short, I started a new job two months ago and met a guy that I'm very interested in. We started secretly dating 5 weeks ago, and everything has been going great. We both had Wednesday and Thursday off, and he asked me out again both nights. We bought me dinner both nights and we spent hours just chatting and "fooling around". He kissed me goodnight, and afterwards, we exchanged a few friendly texts. All seemed well.

Tonight at work, he didn't come over to say "hi" like he usually does, nor did he ask me to spend lunch break with him, as he usually does. I have to admit that I didn't take it well, and rather figured that if I passed him in the hall or something, he'd avoid looking at me.

Well, we did pass each other in the hall a short while later, and as we did, he stared at me intensely, but didn't say anything.

Huh?

So at the advice of some friends, I texted him after work and simply said, "I missed seeing you at lunch today, I hope all is well with you. "

Here it is, an hour later and nothing.

So, I have to admit that I'm new to the dating scene, after a 4-year relationship of emotional abuse and a boring, long marriage before that...but this just seems odd. If he was going to blow me off, fine, I'll deal with it...but I've never known a guy who was "blowing you off" that stared at you intensely, usually quite the opposite.

Advice or observations would be welcome, I have to see him again at work tonight and I'm not sure how I should behave towards him at this point...

(P.S., he hates his job and put in his two-week notice last week and only has 3 days left, so I know he's not worried about violating a "fraternization" policy or anything like that.)
