Background:

Went on a blind date that was setup through friends of ours (by my good buddy and her girlfriend).

December 29th:

I picked her up at her place and we went downtown for drinks (5 hours-ish). At the end of the date on the way back to the car we were holding hands. We had a great time, have a lot in common, and genuinely enjoyed each other's company. She gave me a quick tour of her condo before I headed home. At her place we chatted, laughed and had some touchy feely moments. After about 30 minutes we ended with a very awkward/funny quick kiss and I headed home. Before I left we discussed that a 2nd date was a must and that I should contact her a week or so to set it up as she would be out of town from January 1st until January 8th.

The following evening:

She told me on the date she didn't have plans for New Years and she was most likely not going out. So being the idiot that I am, I sent her a text with something along the lines of... "Hey, I usually try to stick to the whole dating rules thing, but given the fact its New Years, It be great to spend tomorrow evening with you. If you don't already have plans, interested?"

I got no reply

I left it alone and didn't follow up with anything further about the matter.

So, naturally thinking of every single possibility of why I didn't get a reply (maybe she didn't get my text <--- dumb), my desperation got the better of me again today (January 1st), and I sent her one text at noon today with something humorous that related to a conversation we had. I ended with Happy New Year and enjoy your trip.

I got no reply... until 8pm tonight

She replied with: Hi I just saw this didn't send

Followed by: Hi, I had a good time last night. I actually have plans with a couple girl friends tomorrow night and ill be headed out to (trip destination).

Followed by: Happy New Year!

So...

Not sure if I'm buying the excuse... but, I don't care.

What do I now? I may still have a shot here. I need to ditch the desperation, thats pretty obvious.

How should I play this?
